Melipotis januaris, commonly known as the January melipotis moth, is a moth species belonging to the family Erebidae. It was first formally described by Achille Guenée in 1852. This species has a broad distribution across the New World, with confirmed records from Saint Kitts, Montserrat, Dominica, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent, Grenada, the Greater Antilles, Florida, and the region extending from Mexico to Paraguay. Its wingspan measures approximately 35 millimeters. The larvae of Melipotis januaris feed on Inga laurina.
