About Melipotis indomita Walker

Melipotis indomita, commonly known as the indomitable melipotis, is a species of moth belonging to the family Erebidae. This species was first formally described by Francis Walker in 1858. Its distribution ranges from the West Indies to Mexico, and in the United States it occurs from Maine, Florida and Minnesota south to Texas and west to California. The wingspan of adult individuals is between 40 and 55 mm. This species produces multiple generations each year. Its larvae feed on plants of the genus Prosopis.
