Melipotis agrotoides is a species of moth that belongs to the family Erebidae. Its confirmed distribution includes Jamaica, Venezuela, Mexico (specifically the Yucatán region and Mérida), El Salvador, and the southern United States, where it has been recorded in California, Arizona, and Texas. Males of this species have a wingspan of approximately 47 mm, while females have a slightly larger average wingspan of about 48 mm. Adult males have a large, square-shaped pale patch on the basal section of their forewings. Their hindwings feature a black band that ends before reaching the anal angle.
