About Melicope triphylla (Lam.) Merr.

Melicope triphylla (Lam.) Merr. grows as a shrub or tree that reaches up to 15 metres (50 feet) in height. Its flowers are unisexual. The fruits of this species are ellipsoid to roundish in shape, and measure up to 0.5 cm (0.2 in) long. Melicope triphylla grows naturally from the Ryukyu Islands and Taiwan, south to Borneo, and east to New Guinea. In Malaysian Borneo, it inhabits forests at altitudes ranging from sea level up to 1,300 metres (4,300 ft).
