Melicope simplex A.Cunn., commonly known as poataniwha, is a shrub in the Rutaceae family native to New Zealand. This species grows up to 4 metres (13 ft) tall. It bears small serrated leaves that are 1 to 2 centimetres (0.39 to 0.79 in) long, produces white flowers, and develops tiny black seeds after flowering.
