About Melanonotus powellorum Rentz, 1975
Melanonotus powellorum Rentz, 1975 is yellowish brown, with a large, rounded head and long antennae. This species is sluggish, flightless, and nocturnal; it emerges to feed at night among leaves in the forest understory. It is known to be common in Monteverde, Costa Rica, and also occurs in other areas of the country.
