About Megascolia azurea (Christ, 1791)
Megascolia azurea (Christ, 1791), originally misspelled as Megacolia azurea, is a species of scoliid wasp that occurs in parts of tropical Asia. It is a member of the subgenus Megascolia (Regiscolia). This species is counted among the largest wasps, and several subspecies have been described for it. The larvae of Megascolia azurea are parasitoids that primarily develop on scarabaeoid larvae.
