About Megalopyge salebrosa (Clemens, 1860)

Megalopyge salebrosa is a moth species belonging to the Megalopygidae family. It was first formally described by James Brackenridge Clemens in 1860. This species is found in Mexico and Guatemala. Its forewings are pale yellowish brown, with dark brown shading at the end of the cell and near the base. The costal margin of the forewing is white; the veins beyond the cell are white, and each is edged with dark brown. The inner margin of the forewing, near the wing's base, is yellowish brown. The hindwings are pale cream-coloured, and are darkest at the base and along the inner margin. Female Megalopyge salebrosa are considerably larger than males, and have much less white marking on their forewings.
