About Mediodactylus russowii (Strauch, 1887)

Mediodactylus russowii, commonly called the grey thin-toed gecko, Russow's bent-toed gecko, and the Transcaspian bent-toed gecko, is a species of lizard belonging to the family Gekkonidae. This species is native to Asia, and two subspecies are currently recognized. The geographic range of M. russowii extends from Russia through Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, northeastern Iran, northwestern China, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan. Its preferred natural habitats are desert and shrubland, and it occurs at altitudes ranging from 45 meters (148 feet) below sea level to 2,000 meters (6,600 feet) above sea level. M. russowii reproduces via oviparity.
