Marilyna pleurosticta, commonly called the banded toadfish, is a species of pufferfish belonging to the family Tetraodontidae. This species is native to Australia, with a range that extends from Darwin to Sydney. It inhabits silty and muddy areas of coastal waters and estuaries, and it can also enter freshwater regions. It is most often found in tidal channels, mangrove swamps, and salt marshes. It is a carnivorous species that feeds on gastropods and crustaceans. It grows to a maximum length of 13.5 cm (5.3 inches) standard length, and has been reported to live up to 30 years.
