About Marasmius vagus F.E.Guard, M.D.Barrett & Farid

This species, scientifically named Marasmius vagus F.E.Guard, M.D.Barrett & Farid, has an orange cap that measures 2–3.5 centimetres (3⁄4–1+1⁄2 inches) wide. Its gills are white and adnexed. The stem is usually off-center and not straight, growing up to 6.5 cm (2+1⁄2 inches) long and 5 mm (1⁄4 inch) thick. Both its flesh and spore print are white. The species is native to northern Australia. In Florida, it commonly grows in lawns, where these brightly colored mushrooms form clusters and partial fairy rings.
