About Mammillaria geminispina Haw.
Mammillaria geminispina Haw. has a variable growth habit. Most individuals grow into clump-forming colonies, some remain solitary, and others produce only a very small number of offsets. When mature, this species bears long white spines at the tips of conical tubercles, a feature that sets it apart from other Mammillaria species. White wool grows between these tubercles. Its stem tissue ranges in color from teal-blue to dark seafoam-green. Mammillaria geminispina is one of several Mammillaria species grown in cultivation, and it has received the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.
