About Mallotus paniculatus (Lam.) Müll.Arg.

According to Plants of the World Online, Mallotus paniculatus currently includes two accepted varieties. The first is M. paniculatus var. formosanus (Hayata) Hurus., which is found only in Taiwan. The second is the autonymic variety M. paniculatus var. paniculatus, distributed across the Indian Subcontinent, Southern China, Indochina, Malesia, and New Guinea, extending as far as Queensland.
