About Mallada signatus (Schneider, 1851)
Mallada signatus (Schneider, 1851), commonly known as the green lacewing, is an insect species first described by Wilhelm Gottlieb Schneider in 1851. It is one of the most commonly found species in southern Australia. This species closely resembles Plesiochyrsa ramburi, but late instar larvae and adults of Mallada signatus are smaller. Adult Mallada signatus also have very few dark markings on their heads. Feeding on prey that has come into contact with neem oil can negatively affect Mallada signatus individuals.
