About Malacosoma franconica (Denis & Schiffermüller), 1775
Malacosoma franconica, first described by Michael Denis and Ignaz Schiffermüller in 1775, is a moth species belonging to the family Lasiocampidae. This species is distributed across central and southern Europe, and also occurs in Armenia. Males of the species have a wingspan of approximately 22 millimeters, while females have a wingspan of around 36 millimeters. Adult Malacosoma franconica are active from June to August. The larvae feed on plants from the genera Artemisia, Achillea, Plantago and Rumex.
