About Malacoctenus aurolineatus Smith, 1957

Malacoctenus aurolineatus, commonly called the Goldline blenny, is a species of labrisomid blenny. It is native to the western Atlantic Ocean, including the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea, where its range stretches from southern Florida to northern South America. This species lives on rock and coral reefs, found in waters from very shallow depths down to approximately 5 metres, or 16 feet. It prefers to live near sea urchins. The maximum total length this species can reach is 6 centimetres, equal to 2.4 inches.
