Scientific name: Malacocoris chlorizans (Panzer, 1794)

Description: This species is green, and reaches 3–4 millimetres (0.12–0.16 inches) in length.

Distribution: It occurs across Europe, though it is primarily absent from Albania, the Azores, the Canary Islands, Cyprus, the Faroe Islands, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Madeira, Malta, and North Macedonia. Its range extends eastward to the Caspian Sea.

Ecology: Malacocoris chlorizans lives on deciduous trees, and is found especially often on hazel. It feeds on mites and aphids. Adult individuals fly from May through October.
