Malachius aeneus, commonly called the scarlet malachite beetle, is a species of soft-winged flower beetle that belongs to the family Melyridae. This species was introduced to North America in 1852, and is now widespread across the region. In Great Britain, its larvae are often found near cereal crops, and are known predators of Brassicogethes aeneus.
