About Maianthemum stellatum (L.) Link

Maianthemum stellatum (L.) Link is a herbaceous perennial flowering plant. It grows from extensively branching rhizomes, and often forms dense, spreading patches. Mature plants reach a height of 2 to 6 decimeters, and produce between 8 and 11 leaves per stem. This species is native across North America. Its native range generally extends from Alaska to California, North Carolina, and Newfoundland, and also includes northern Mexico, specifically the states of Sonora, Chihuahua, Coahuila, and Nuevo León. It has been recorded in every Canadian province and territory except Nunavut, and in every US state except Hawaii and the states of the Southeast. It can be found growing in open woods, prairies, and shorelines.
