Mactra chinensis R.A.Philippi, 1846 is a species of saltwater clam, a marine bivalve mollusc that belongs to the Mactridae family, which are commonly called trough shells.

This species lives on sandy substrates in shallow marine habitats. It can be found in Vietnam, Korea, Mainland China, the Philippines, and Taiwan.

In Japan, this clam is known as bakagai, meaning "fool clam", or aoyagi. Its adductor muscle is called kobashira, and it is commonly used as an ingredient in sushi.
