Waterhouse's leaf-nosed bat, scientifically named Macrotus waterhousii Gray, 1843, is a big-eared bat species belonging to the family Phyllostomidae. Its distribution includes the Greater Antilles, with presence in the Cayman Islands, Cuba, Hispaniola (which covers the Dominican Republic and Haiti), and Jamaica, and excludes Puerto Rico. It is also found in Mexico, ranging from Sonora to Hidalgo, and extends southward into Guatemala.
