About Macrenches clerica (Rosenstock, 1885)

Macrenches clerica is a moth species belonging to the family Gelechiidae. This species is found in Australia, with confirmed records from Tasmania and the south-eastern portion of the Australian mainland. Its wingspan measures 15–18 mm (0.59–0.71 inches). The forewings are dark bronzy-fuscous, marked by a broad ochreous-whitish costal streak that extends from the base to near the apex. This streak is mixed with light fuscous along the costa, starting from the middle of the wing to near the tip. A second streak of similar coloration runs along the dorsal edge, extending from near the base to the termen near the apex. This dorsal streak is more or less suffused with fuscous on its posterior section, and its anterior upper edge is sometimes tinged with brassy-yellowish. The hindwings are grey or pale grey, and are paler in color towards their anterior portion.
