Macarostola ida is a moth species that belongs to the family Gracillariidae. This species is native to Australia, where it is found in the states of New South Wales, Queensland, Western Australia, and Victoria. In 2019, it was confirmed that Macarostola ida has become established in Northland and east Auckland, New Zealand. The larvae of this moth feed on plants in the Angophora and Eucalyptus genera, including the species Eucalyptus piperita. Larvae feed by mining the leaves of their host plants.
