About Macaria artesiaria (Denis & Schiffermüller), 1775

Macaria artesiaria (Denis & Schiffermüller), 1775 is a moth species belonging to the family Geometridae. Its distribution extends from the North Sea east to Mongolia and the Amur River. The wingspan of this moth ranges from 24 to 28 mm, which is 0.94 to 1.10 inches. Most populations have two generations annually. Adults of the first generation are active from the end of May through July, while adults of the second generation are on wing from August through September. In the northern portion of the species' range, there is only one generation per year, with adults flying from mid June through August.
