About Lysimachia nemorum L.

Lysimachia nemorum L. is an evergreen, creeping perennial herbaceous plant that grows to a maximum height of around 40 centimeters. Its bright green leaves are arranged oppositely, are ovate in shape, pointed at the tip, and have no teeth or hairs. The yellow flowers measure approximately 8 millimeters across, and grow individually on long stalks in the axil of each leaf. Each flower has five very narrow sepals, five pointed petals, and five stamens. It has a superior ovary that develops into a capsule after flowering. Lysimachia nemorum is native to Great Britain, Ireland, and eastern mainland Europe, ranging from the Pyrenees in the south to eastern Norway in the north. Its native habitat is damp woodland.
