About Lyroderma lyra (É.Geoffroy Saint-Hilaire, 1810)
Lyroderma lyra, formally described by É.Geoffroy Saint-Hilaire in 1810, has a body length ranging from 6.5–9.5 cm (2.6–3.7 in), and weighs between 40 to 60 g (1.4 to 2.1 oz). Its average forearm length measures approximately 6.5–7.2 cm (2.6–2.8 in). This species has large ears and lacks a tail. Its fur is predominantly blue-gray across most of the body, and is brownish gray on its underside. It also has an erect noseleaf that is around 10 millimeters long. This bat is widely distributed across South Asia and Southeast Asia. Confirmed locations where it occurs include Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Burma, Cambodia, China, India, Laos, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam.
