About Lyonia ferruginea (Walter) Nutt.

Lyonia ferruginea, commonly known as rusty staggerbush, tree lyonia, and dragon tree, is a plant species belonging to the genus Lyonia. It currently grows in Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina. It was first described by Thomas Walter, and was formally named by Thomas Nuttall. No subspecies of this species are listed in the Catalog of Life. In 1848, it was reported to occur in Georgia, Florida, and Mexico. This species flowers during the summer.
