About Lycodon davisonii (Blanford, 1878)
Blanford's bridle snake, scientifically named Lycodon davisonii, is also commonly called Blanford's bridal snake. It is a harmless species of snake in the Colubridae family, and is endemic to Asia. It gets its common name because its slender body resembles the bridle used to control horses. Lycodon davisonii can be found in Cambodia, southern China, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam. Its preferred natural habitat is forest, occurring at altitudes ranging from sea level up to 1,500 meters (4,900 feet). This species reproduces by laying eggs, meaning it is oviparous.
