The scorpion’s base color is brownish-yellow, and this base color is covered by a dark brown to black mottled, marbled pattern. The stinger and the very tip of the tail are dark brown. This species is distributed across most of southern mainland Australia, particularly in the region’s cooler, wetter areas, including urban zones.
