About Luthrodes pandava

Luthrodes pandava, also commonly called the Plains Cupid or cycad blue, is a species of lycaenid butterfly. It is found in South Asia, Myanmar, the United Arab Emirates, Indochina, Peninsular Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Java, Sumatra, and the Philippines. It is one of the few butterfly species that breeds on cycads, plants whose leaves are toxic to most vertebrates. Within its range, the species lives in peninsular India south of the outer Himalayan ranges, though it is absent from desert tracts and is somewhat locally distributed. It is also present in Ceylon, Assam, Burma, and extends into the Malayan subregion.
