About Lupinus microcarpus Sims
Lupinus microcarpus Sims is an annual plant that can grow up to 80 centimetres (31 inches) tall. Its leaves are palmately compound, bearing between 5 and 11 leaflets. Each leaflet is 1 centimetre (0.39 inches) to 5 centimetres (2.0 inches) long, and reaches up to 1 centimetre (0.39 inches) broad. The flowers are usually pink to purple, but may also range in color from white to yellow. These flowers grow in open whorls along an erect spike. The species occurs at elevations from sea level in the northern part of its range, up to 1,600 metres (5,200 feet) high in Southern California.
