Loxopholis southi, commonly known as the northern spectacled lizard and the southern leposoma, is a species of lizard that belongs to the family Gymnophthalmidae. This species is native to southeastern Central America and northwestern South America. Two subspecies of L. southi are currently recognized. The geographic range of L. southi covers Costa Rica, Panama, and Colombia. It lives in forested environments, especially tropical moist forest, and is usually found in leaf litter on the forest floor. Loxopholis southi reproduces by laying eggs, meaning it is oviparous.
