About Losaria neptunus (Guérin-Méneville, 1840)

Losaria neptunus, commonly known as the yellow-bodied club-tail or yellow club-tail, is a species of butterfly in the family Papilionidae. It is found in Sumatra, southern Burma, northern Borneo, and the Philippines. This butterfly has a wingspan ranging from 100–120 mm (3.9–4.7 in). Its wings are dark brown or black, with white markings on the forewings and a red patch on each hindwing. The lower half of its abdomen is yellow, which gives the species its common name. The larvae of Losaria neptunus feed on species from the Thottea and Aristolochia genera.
