Lophostemon suaveolens (Sol. ex Gaertn.) Paul G.Wilson & J.T.Waterh. is a species of flowering plant that belongs to Myrtaceae, the family that includes cloves and eucalyptus. This plant is commonly called swamp mahogany, swamp box, or swamp turpentine. It is native to New Guinea and Australia. In Australia, it grows along the east coast, ranging from areas north of the Hunter River in New South Wales all the way to the northern tip of Cape York Peninsula in Queensland. It can be found growing in sclerophyll forest, swamp forest, gallery forest, and on the margins of rainforests.
