About Lophoptera squammigera Guenée, 1852

Lophoptera squammigera has a wingspan of approximately 34 mm. Males have somewhat broader forewings than other forms. The entire body is greyish brown. Its forewings feature double sub-basal, antemedial, and postmedial waved lines. The medial area of the forewing is suffused with fuscous, and bears a dark stria within the cell and below the cell. Two single sub-marginal waved lines are present on the forewings: the inner sub-marginal line appears dark at the costa. Hindwings are fuscous and lack any hyaline areas. Larvae of this moth feed on host plants from four genera across four plant families: Mallotus sp. and Bridelia sp. in Euphorbiaceae, Shorea sp. in Dipterocarpaceae, and Grewia sp. in Tiliaceae.
