Lomatium repostum is a spreading perennial herb. It grows from a slender taproot, reaching up to half a meter in length. This plant typically does not produce an aboveground stem; its leaves and inflorescence emerge directly from ground level. Its leaf blades are composed of sharp-toothed oval leaflets, each of which can grow up to 6 centimeters long. It produces an umbel inflorescence holding flowers that range in color from yellowish-green to purplish.
