Lomatium lucidum is a somewhat fleshy perennial herb that sometimes grows to over one meter in height. Its leaves can reach approximately 24 centimeters in length, and are divided into many toothed, three-lobed leaflets, each of which is a few centimeters long. The plant produces an inflorescence in the form of a compound umbel of yellow flowers, which is held on a peduncle that grows up to half a meter tall.
