About Lomatium howellii (S.Watson) Jeps.
Lomatium howellii (S.Watson) Jeps. is a perennial herb. It grows from a thick, branching taproot, and reaches up to 80 centimeters in total height. This species often does not produce an aboveground stem, instead growing upright inflorescences and leaves directly from ground level. Its individual leaves are long, sometimes growing over one meter in length, and each leaf is divided into many oval or rounded, toothed leaflets. The inflorescence is an umbel, made up of small flowers that can be yellow or purplish in color.
