Lochmaeus manteo (variable oakleaf caterpillar moth) is a moth species belonging to the family Notodontidae. It can be found in eastern North America. The wingspan of this moth ranges from 37 to 50 mm. Adult individuals are active from April through October each year. Its larvae feed on a variety of deciduous trees, most commonly on species of the genus Quercus, which includes oaks.
