Lobobasis is a monotypic moth genus that belongs to the family Erebidae. This genus contains only one species: Lobobasis niveimaculata Hampson, 1896. Both the genus Lobobasis and the species Lobobasis niveimaculata were first described by George Hampson in 1896. This species has a distribution range that extends from the Indian state of Sikkim, Bhutan, and Sundaland eastward to Queensland, the Solomon Islands, and New Guinea. Its known habitats include lower montane forests, upper montane forests, and various types of lowland forests. Adult Lobobasis niveimaculata moths display sexual dimorphism.
