Litsea glutinosa (Lour.) C.B.Rob. is a rainforest tree that belongs to the laurel plant family, Lauraceae. Its common names include soft bollygum, bolly beech, Bollywood, bollygum, brown bollygum, brown Bollywood, sycamore, and brown beech. The powdered bark of this tree, called jigat, can be used to make an adhesive paste for producing incense sticks. This species is native to the Andaman Islands, Assam, Western Australia, Bangladesh, Borneo, Cambodia, South-Central and Southeast China, East and West Himalaya, Hainan, India, Java, Laos, the Lesser Sunda Islands, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, New Guinea, the Nicobar Islands, Northern Territory, Philippines, Queensland, the Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka, Sulawesi, Thailand, Vietnam, Australia, and the western Pacific islands. It has been introduced to La Réunion, Mauritius, Mayotte, and New Caledonia, where it is classified as an invasive species.
