About Lithobates brownorum (Sanders, 1973)

Lithobates brownorum, commonly called Browns' leopard frog, is a frog species native to a range that extends from southern Veracruz and northeastern Oaxaca, east across the Yucatan Peninsula and the uplands of Chiapas in southern Mexico, through Guatemala and Honduras, to Nicaragua. Its status as a distinct species separate from Lithobates berlandieri has been questioned, but current molecular data supports the conclusion that it is a separate species.
