Liolaemus platei, commonly called the braided tree iguana, is a species of lizard that belongs to the Liolaemidae family. This species is endemic to Chile. It is restricted to the Chilean Matorral ecoregion, with a geographic range that extends from Chile's Antofagasta Region in the north, through the Atacama Region, to the Coquimbo Region in the south. Liolaemus platei reproduces by laying eggs, meaning it is oviparous.
