About Liolaemus gravenhorstii (Gray, 1845)

Liolaemus gravenhorstii (Gray, 1845), commonly called Gravenhorst's tree iguana, is a species of lizard that belongs to the family Liolaemidae. This species is endemic to South America. As of 2023, confirmed populations of L. gravenhorstii are found in central Chile. Cei and Videla (2001) previously reported two populations of this species from Argentina, but these populations differ from the Chilean population and may actually belong to a different species. In Chile, confirmed distribution records of L. gravenhorstii exist for Región Metropolitana, and potential distribution records have been noted for the O'Higgins and Valparaíso regions.
