About Liolaemus forsteri Laurent, 1982
Liolaemus forsteri is a large species within its genus. Mature individuals can reach a snout-to-vent length (SVL) of 10.3 cm, which is 4.1 inches. This lizard has a heavy body build, with very short digits on all four of its feet. Its dorsal scales are small and tubercular, while its ventral scales are larger and smooth. This species is native to La Paz Department, Bolivia. Its preferred natural habitat is rocky grassland areas, located at altitudes ranging from 4,100 to 4,700 meters (13,500 to 15,400 feet). It can also be found in modified agricultural areas, including rock piles on potato farms, as well as in alpaca and llama pastures.
