About Liocoris tripustulatus (Fabricius, 1781)

Adults of this species normally measure 4 to 5 mm in length. Their base coloration is darker brown, with highlights that range from cream-coloured to yellow. The scutellum displays a heart-shaped marking, while the wings bear two spots. A more or less visible clear band runs across the entire body. This species is quite variable in colour. In spring, the basic colour is darker, and the cuneus is bright orange-yellow. Newly emerged adults of the new generation are commonly paler, with less pronounced markings. The width of the head is approximately half the width of the pronotum. The legs are pale yellowish, marked with striped black rings. The tibiae have short dark spines. This species can be found across most of Europe. These plant bugs generally inhabit low vegetation.
