Lindera akoensis Hayata, commonly called Taiwan spicebush, is a flowering plant species in the Lauraceae family. It is endemic to Taiwan, where it grows in thickets. This perennial shrub has fragrant foliage, showy flowers, and showy fruit. At maturity, it reaches a height of 8 to 10 feet (2.4 to 3.0 meters). It is hardy in USDA zones 8 and 9, and is recommended for use in hedges, borders, and cottage gardens planted in partial shade.
