About Linanthus dichotomus Benth.

Linanthus dichotomus is a species of flowering plant in the phlox family, commonly known as evening-snow. It is native to western North America, including most of the southwestern United States, where it is a common component of native plant communities across a number of habitat types. It is often found growing on the serpentine soils of California. This plant is an annual herb that produces several thin, waxy, erect stems that reach up to 20 centimeters tall. Its leaves are divided into linear lobes that measure 1 to 2 centimeters long. The inflorescence forms a cyme of vespertine flowers that unroll into funnel-shaped corollas. The white corolla lobes are just over one centimeter long, and have purple shading on their undersides.
