About Linanthus concinnus Milliken

Linanthus concinnus Milliken is a species of flowering plant in the phlox family, commonly known as San Gabriel linanthus. It is endemic to the San Gabriel Mountains in the Los Angeles area, where it grows in dry, rocky habitat within chaparral and forest ecosystems. This species is a small annual herb that produces a thin, hairy, glandular stem that reaches no more than approximately 12 centimeters in height. Its leaves are divided into narrow, threadlike linear lobes that grow up to 1.5 centimeters long. The inflorescence is a cluster of 3 to 7 funnel-shaped flowers. Each corolla lobe is up to one centimeter long, white, and marked with two magenta spots at its base.
