Limosella acaulis, commonly called Owyhee mudwort, is a flowering plant species that belongs to the figwort family. This plant is native to western North America, ranging from the Pacific Northwest to northern Mexico. It grows in various types of muddy habitats located near water, including the edges of ponds. It is a fleshy annual herb that forms low mats over muddy substrate. Its flattened leaves can be linear, strap-shaped, or spoon-shaped, and reach up to 6 centimeters in length. The inflorescence consists of an erect stalk that holds a single flower, which is white to pale lavender and just a few millimeters wide. The fruit it produces is a capsule up to 5 millimeters wide that holds many tiny seeds.
